Terms of Service

These terms cover your use of VibeComments — the browser extension, the sync service behind it, and this website — provided by Dignacy. Using any of them means you accept these terms. If you do not, do not use them.
The software is in alpha
This is the most important clause on the page, so it is first. VibeComments is pre-release software. Features change and are sometimes removed. Data loss is possible. The sync service can be restarted or reset while we work on it, and open connections do not survive that.
Do not rely on VibeComments as the only record of anything you cannot afford to lose. Comments you need to keep should be copied somewhere you control — which the one-click copy is designed to make easy.
Your account
The extension works with no account. If you create one, you are responsible for the email address it is tied to and for what happens under it. Tell us at support@dignacy.com if you believe someone else has access to it.
A project owner controls who is in a project and what role each member holds. Inviting somebody to a project shares that project’s comments with them.
Your content
The comments you write are yours. You keep all rights to them. You grant us only the permission required to run the service: to store your comments, to show them to the people you shared them with, and to make them available to the tools you connect — including a coding agent you point at your own comments.
You are responsible for what you put in a comment. Do not put anything in one that you do not have the right to share, and be aware that a comment is anchored to a URL: if you comment on a page containing someone else’s confidential or personal data, and you capture an element screenshot of it, that data travels with the comment.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the service to store or distribute unlawful content, malware, or material you have no right to
- Attempt to access another account, project, or comment you were not given access to
- Interfere with the service — probing, load-testing, or circumventing rate limits — without our written agreement. Security research is welcome; write to us first
- Resell or redistribute the software. It is proprietary and licensed to you for use, not transferred
The extension runs on pages you choose
VibeComments injects an annotation layer into pages you open it on. That is what it is for. You are responsible for having the right to do this on any site that is not yours, and for complying with any agreement you have with that site’s operator.
Price
Alpha access is free. There is no paid tier today. If one is introduced, we will say so before it applies to you, and we will not convert free alpha access into a charge without your explicit agreement.
Availability
There is no uptime commitment during the alpha. We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service. If we discontinue the sync service, we will give account holders reasonable notice and a way to export their comments.
Ending it
You may stop using VibeComments at any time; uninstalling the extension is enough, and account deletion is described in the privacy policy. We may suspend or end access for a serious or repeated breach of these terms, and where circumstances allow we will tell you why first.
Warranties and liability
The service is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent the law allows. Given the alpha status described above, we specifically do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that data stored in it will be preserved.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Dignacy is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, for lost profits, or for lost data. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top of this page is the date of the current version, and a material change will be announced by email to account holders before it takes effect.
